Mel Brigg
Mel Brigg was born in the Orange Free State, South Africa in 1950. Mel sketched from a young age and is a self taught artist, and started
exhibiting in 1970. He is known for his support of institutions such as Child Welfare, Wild Life Trust and Save the Rhino Foundation.
Mel left for Australia in 1993 to settle in Dungog, New South Wales. He now resides on the Sunshine Coast.
His paintings are expansive in their vision, and yet simple and skilled in their application. He is well known for his paintings of landscapes
and beaches and his " Exodus " series.
His works are in collections all around the world, including the South African Embassies in Singapore, Canada and Belgium, the Royal
Exchange in London and Barclays Bank in South Africa and Australia.
The Queensland Government, Grain Corporation, Sydney, Optus Communications and Keanu Reeves are all proud owners of his paintings.
