Emma Varga
Emma Varga was born in Yugoslavia. In 1977, she graduated from the University of Applied Arts in Belgrade with a Bachelor of Arts, majoring in glass design and ceramic sculpture. From 1976--9, she worked in conjunction with the Glass Factory in Paracin Yugoslavia, explaining all types of glass techniques. In 1995 she moved to Australia and established a Creative Laboratory in Colloroy, Sydney.
Currently Emma is developing multiple layers fusing, and the " aquarelle " technique of fusing/ casting. Over the last nine years she has been experimenting with this technique, using thin glass sheets to set up layers composed from tiny mosaic-like elements to achieve three dimensional images inside the fused/cast sculptural object.
In 2005 she was a finalist in the prestiegious Ranamok Glass Awards. In 2006 she has solo exhibitions organized for Melbourne and Belgrade. Her unique work is much admired and she has many satisfied buyers and collectors in Australia, USA. and Europe.
